Who are we?
The “Us & We” in CG Woodcrafts in me, myself and I, Carrie Gallimore. A mostly self taught pyrography artist, wood turner & woodcrafter based in Staffordshire. Like many small business owners I wear the many hats of running a small business.
We make an electic range of wooden gifts, keepsakes and homewares using pyrography, woodturning, whittling, laser cutting & engraving and scroll saw. The pieces we make are useable, beautiful and functional. Our passion for making, attention for detail and care go into everything that we create.
Each piece starts as an idea or conversation then comes to life in our workshop studio
We are passionate about crafting, making positive choices in the materials we use. We understand that working with wood and power tools, driving to our markets and fairs, we can never be 100% green and eco friendly but we can do our bit and be eco-conscious.
Our woods are sourced locally and from sustainable wood mills so even when we work with the more exotic woods we are cutting down on the carbon footprint and travel time of the materials. Every usable piece is put to good use ensuring we cut down on workshop waste. We utilise our treasure trove of “just incase” pieces for when creativity strikes.
We make much of our stationary, backing cards and stickers ourselves from recycled materials where ever possible. Our packaging is recycled or supplied by UK based companies. Look out for the travelling turtle on our new eco mailers!
You can find us at artisan markets and craft fairs across Staffordshire and Derbyshire. We love getting the chance to get out and meet you face to face and chat wood, talk about the processes and get the instant feedback.
Keep an eye in the blog posts for upcoming market dates and details and come and say Hi!
We have regular stalls at Tissington Artisan Market, Castle Artisan and Ashbourne Makers Street.
