National Creative Market Day is a new campaign championed by Pedddle UK:

“To make a collective and united noise about markets the get the attention to new / more people.  To increase the awareness and visibility of local markets / events and get people looking out for them in the future. To create change for good within our industry”

Awareness and visibility is key for local markets and the businesses that trade with them.  Join in and make noise, shout out and support the micro and small businesses as well as your local communities

Markets aren’t just where we sell and showcase our makes.  They are where we can talk directly to our customers, tell you the stories and processes behind each piece we make and get ideas and direct feedback which is invaluable (and really puts a smile on our faces). You’d be surprised how many ideas come about from a simple conversation.

Another great thing about markets is the friends we make.  Running a small business can be hard work and lonely at times.  Going to markets means we get to spend the day with like minded business owners and fellow creators.  Sharing ideas, boosting and supporting each other as a little community of business buddies.

So this 5th October, if you have a favourite market or you love to see a particular stall holder while you are out and about shout out!  Tell your friends.  We’ll be sharing our favourite markets and stall holders we’ve met too.
